Care should always be taken when using tools with stainless steel to avoid cross contamination from non stainless fasteners and a separate tool or bit should be used only for stainless steel.

Grunt Emergel - Stainless Steel requires regular cleaning and maintenance. Poorly specified, designed, manufactured or maintained Stainless can suffer rust discolouration often known as Tea-staining. If tea-staining does occur, the Nickel Institute recommends application of a phosphoric acid gel to remove the staining and restore the surface of the stainless steel. Tef-Gel is derived from a specially formulated Teflon paste and is used in highly corrosive environments in areas of Rust Prevention, Galvanic Corrosion Elimination as Anti Seize Lubricant. Hand Taps are used to create a female thread on the inside of a pre-drilled hole, Anzor has a range of tap sets from M4 through to M12 but more are available on request. Taper Taps have a lead of eight threads and are used as a starting tap in difficult or high precision holes. They can be identified by a single ring on the shaft near the driving square. Intermediate Taps have a lead of four threads and are used in most general purpose applications. They can be identified by two rings on the shaft near the driving square. Bottoming Taps have a lead of two threads and are used when tapping blind holes. Usually preceded by a taper or intermediate tap. They can be identified by their plain shaft (no rings near the driving square). We also have a Gun Tap which is specifically for tapping the hole for our Anzor Eyelet. |
